I apologize to know about your experience. By design, you will really need to manual type the numbers when making calls to landline/mobile numbers.Īnother feature "downgrade" by upgrading to the new Skype.įor goodness sake, you want people to use MS products. Will there ever be the possibility to use Skype as a phone again, or should I just uninstall it? Shall we assume that MS is effectively telling us that Skype can no longer be used as a phone service, and is transforming into some cheap looking social media platform instead? I saw somewhere that MS suggests to copy each contact, one by one - that would be around 5,000 contacts and would probably cost more in wasted time, than simply using a landline or a mobile phone to call my contacts directly. Is there any way to automatically transfer the Outlook address book to Skype, so I dont have to "copy and paste" ever time i want to make a phone call? How come MS is preventing a telephone app from making phone calls.? Now, I am being told that MS will actually prevent me from making calls using Skype 7 after November 1 (or 15) depending whom I listen to. Not being able to easily call contacts from my Outlook address book was just making Skype close to useless.Īfter some searching, I managed to download Skype 7 and have managed to reject all update requests from Skype to go back to the disastrous Skype 8 again - that works for me. I "upgraded" from Skype 7 to Skype 8 a few months ago - what a disaster that was!!
